Lose Weight on the Master Cleanse Diet

Master_Cleanse_Lemonade_FastEvery year, millions of men and women attempt to lose weight on various diets and cleanses. The Master Cleanse diet also known as the lemonade diet has proven to be one of the most effective weight loss diets resulting in overall fat loss and long-term weight reduction. This cleanse diet uses a combination of fluids and laxatives (salt water is recommended) to cleanse the many systems of the body.

The Master Cleanse or Lemonade diets consist of a combination of organic grade maple syrup, cayenne pepper, lemon or lime juice and water. This combination is consumed six to twelve times a day in substitution for meals. The maple syrup provides calories and nutrients for the maintenance of the metabolism of the body.

The cayenne pepper helps to boost metabolic rate and increase fat burn. The lemon or lime juice added in the drink provides vitamins and natural antioxidants for the body to use instead of food sources. Water is the most important ingredient in the diet because it aides in flushing the intestines and bowel. This results in drastic weight loss and visible fat loss.

Many physicians and medical professionals debate whether this diet is actually safe and healthy. Because this diet is designed to be a cleansing diet, it should be used as a way to cleanse the unhealthy buildup of toxins in the body, not as a permanent way to manage weight. Usually, cleanse diets last for 14 days or less because of the fasting involved and it is considered to be unhealthy and ineffective after two weeks. The aim of the diet is not to lose weight but to efficiently cleanse the body of all toxins and excess matter built up in the bowels. The side effect of this diet is weight loss.

Many individuals who want to lose weight, abuse this diet in an aim to have significant fat loss. Essentially, after the two week process you are starving yourself of the calories your body needs to function. This is not healthy and can permanently damage body organs and lead to anorexia. This diet is ideal if your intention is to cleanse your bowels and remove excess weight from waste build up. If your intention is to lose weight permanently, then you should consider using a permanent diet and increase your exercise to burn off excess calories. This will work more effectively than any short term fad diet or cleanse.
