Think it’s Not Sexy to Sweat? Science Says Otherwise

So many women think that it’s not sexy to work up an intense sweat, but studies have shown that this just isn’t the case.  The hot, sweaty workout extends far beyond the body sculpting benefits that you’ll enjoy; here are a few examples of how.

Dewy skin is just one of the many benefits of working up a sweat.

Dewy skin is just one of the many benefits of working up a sweat.

-          A sexy, rosy glow.  Yes, this is true, but it’s not because you’re running hot.  When you work out, the process warms the blood, so when it gets to the muscles it’s warmer.  When the blood vessels in the face dilate in an effort to cool the blood, the cheeks turn a sexy, fresh pink.

-          Crazy soft skin.  Yes, that sweat that you’re dripping is not just full of water, which helps to hydrate the skin on its own, but it also contains urea.  Sure it sounds gross, but it’s a terrific hydrator that is helping to soften the skin and even fill the tiny lines on the face.  If that’s not enough, the skin stays dewy and soft, and the benefits are cumulative.

-          Dewy radiance.  When you work out, the body heats up a smidge, and that causes you to sweat a little bit.  That sweat makes you glow, literally, so enjoy it because this is what makes a woman look as if she’s been lit from within, and that’s appealing.  When you work out at a pace that allows sweat to evaporate at about the same rate as your body makes it, you’ll be able to keep looking dewy for hours.

-          Super clean pores.  Sweating doesn’t cause acne; it’s the opposite.  The pores open up, and the sweat flushes out dead skin cells that can dull the complexion.  Plus, sweat gets rid of all that bacteria in the pores that can cause acne breakouts.  Fewer pimples are a pretty compelling reason to get out there and work up a sweat and enjoy the free facial that comes along with it.

Make sure that you cool down the right way, too.  When you gradually bring down your heart rate, you’ll find that you can enjoy the benefits even longer.  Once you’re done, don’t wash your face, just rinse your whole body off in warm water and smooth on moisturizer for long lasting beauty benefits.

The next time you’re thinking that you’re not seeing results with your workout think again.  You might not see your body shrink right away, but you’re going to look fabulous anyway.
