Running or jogging is a great way to increase ones endurance while burning fat simultaneously. Many people find that it is too difficult to run do to conditions such as asthma or previous injuries to the knees, ankles and hips.

These exercises are great alternatives to running, and also promote weight loss. These exercises are easier on a person’s bones and joints along with causing less stress on the respiratory system. Many local gyms have reasonable membership rates, have a variety of classes, and are open at hours that are convenient for any hectic schedule.

The other have of exercise is strength training. Individuals who wish to loose weight also need to participate in strength training for 45 minutes daily. This promotes muscle building, endurance, and also burns calories. There are a variety of strength training exercises that promote weight loss. There are many classes available including Thai Chi, yoga, Pilates, dance, and light weight training. Many gyms have these classes and many machines that exercise various muscles. This allows the individual to mix up their workouts to make them more enjoyable, and to decrease the chance of a plateau in weight loss.

Both cardiovascular exercise and strength training are essential parts of a daily workout and for weight loss. Combined with a healthy diet, you will be able to burn fat and on your way to having a slender, healthy looking body in no time. If you have trouble finding a workout program, then you may consider consulting a personal trainer at your local gym. Do not be afraid to try various exercises and workout regimens that may help further your success in loosing weight. Just remember any exercise is better than no exercise, so get moving.
